Product description
Watercolor paints, with intense colors, will make your hobbies or school projects even more beautiful and ethereal.
Watercolors or water-based paints are known by both names. We often use "water-based paints" as this term is familiar from our childhood and school years. However, it is an undeniable fact that water-based paints are cheaper and of lower quality—the pigment dissolves more difficultly and the artwork often appears cloudy; colors fade significantly upon drying, and sometimes there is almost no color left. The paints created for semi-professionals and professionals are called "watercolors." They are available in plastic boxes, as individual blocks, or in tubes. Their colors are saturated and deep. When using the "wet-on-wet" technique, they become ethereal and are applied very lightly and pleasantly. A light touch of the paint is enough, and the pigment is already transferred onto the wet brush. Water-based and watercolor paints share one main quality—they are water-soluble, containing pigment and gum Arabic in their composition. In high-quality paints, honey is added in various proportions to the main material. The difference between them lies in the different classes of watercolor (water-based) paints and different watercolor products—watercolor pencils or pastels, which are handled in different ways. The technique for painting with watercolors is not easy, but once you engage with it, it offers the opportunity to create incredible paintings and will surely become one of your favorite painting techniques. As they are much easier to apply and spread, watercolors can also be used in decoupage to achieve light and shadow effects on already-dried napkins or paper. Besides watercolor paper and cardboard, watercolors can now also be used on canvas, specially developed for them—an innovative 100% cotton canvas treated with a specially created ground for this type of paint. Explore the Art Materials section, under Painting Supplies, where you will find bases for painting—watercolor cardboard and paper, as well as sets of brushes. As you delve into the magical world of watercolors, you will discover new techniques. Then let your imagination guide you and paint your masterpieces.
