Product description
Chalk paint with which you can unleash your creative potential and age items made of wood, MDF, and papier-mâché without any prior preparation.
Chalk paint is the preferred method for transforming old, worn furniture into a beautiful jewel born from our imagination. Fans of the modern country style, or those dreaming of "something different" in their home or villa interior, have come to the right place. This paint is easy to apply, dries quickly, and produces a finish you’ll find hard to resist touching and looking at – it’s that pleasing. Created about 30 years ago, chalk paint continues to excite with its unique qualities today. Invented by British artist Annie Sloan in response to her need for self-expression, this type of paint still amazes with its simplicity of use – there’s no need for surface preparation, sanding, or primer. Instead, the old layers beneath the chalk paint can be turned into an effect at a certain stage of your work. All that’s needed before starting is to ensure the surface to be painted is clean of grease and dry. And a brush, of course. Another advantage of chalk paint is that it rarely drips and doesn’t tend to form those annoying droplets. It dries quickly, and if a second coat is necessary, you can see the results of your labor relatively fast. Armed with a brush and a few paint colors, you’ll create wonders in your home. If you use sandpaper, removing part of the already-dried chalk paint can reveal part of the base color. Or if you use two contrasting colors, you can reveal the lower contrasting layer. It’s all about imagination. Chalk paint can also be used in various other projects – on wooden items, MDF objects, papier-mâché items, as well as styrofoam, plastic, and more. You can find a plethora of these items on the EM ART website – boxes of various sizes and purposes, napkin holders, hooks, photo frames, vases, candle holders, wooden signs and letters, tiles, and much more. By using different painting techniques; and additionally - stencils, metallic paints, fittings, and structural pastes available on our site, this type of paint will turn every item into a unique piece born from your vision of beauty and elegance. Explore the Structural Pastes and Waxes subgroup under the Art Materials section on our website and choose a finishing coat – neutral wax or varnish, depending on the wear of the painted surfaces. Be intuitive and adventurous in creating your projects.
