Attach the finished flower with thread onto the elastic.
Thin hairbands are also one of the accessories that have gained significant popularity this year. Make this accessory yourself by getting two thin bands in different colors, elastic, and a thin chain for an accent.

Who Invented the Elastic Cord?
The patent for elastic cord belongs to Stephen Perry and dates back to March 17, 1845, in England. He owned a company that dealt with rubber products. Rubber was gaining popularity during the Industrial Revolution because it was multifunctional, especially the rubber tree sap. The milky sap of these trees is called latex, which means milk or milk-like.
To extract rubber, mix it with acetic acid, and you are almost done. Then follows a bit of processing, and you have rubber, known to South Americans since ancient times. So, it’s no surprise that they might have been the first to make elastic bands.
To this day, elastic is used to hold things together. For example, Stephen Perry’s elastic cords were intended to hold together rolls of valuable documents or to keep a prescription in place to avoid confusion.
The first industrial use of rubber was to erase pencil marks. But you’re not asking about erasers, you’re asking about elastic bands.
The production process followed these steps: The finished rubber passed through machines similar to grinders, just like making spaghetti. Then another machine joined the ends of the rubber spaghetti, followed by vulcanization—a thermal process that changes the chemical composition of the rubber and makes it elastic.
Then, the so-called sleeves, which remained after the described actions, were cut by hand. And there you have it.
None of this would have happened if Mr. Goodyear hadn’t discovered vulcanization two years earlier by placing a piece of rubber on a hot stove. The stove broke down, but everyone knew that rubber, besides erasing pencil marks, is also quite stretchy. We hope we’ve answered your question.
