What is Diamond Painting?

How to Paint with Diamonds?

To start, open your canvas and place it under something heavy, like a stack of books, for a few hours overnight. This will help it straighten out. Once it’s straightened, place your canvas (preferably on an LED light pad), then peel back a small part of the plastic cover to work on a small area.

Be careful not to remove it all the way, as this protects the sticky canvas. Now you’ll start working with the resin drills. Use the coded diagram on the canvas to match a symbol with the corresponding drill color, then find the correct diamond bag. You can pick any single-color drill to start. Pour some of the drills into the tray, then gently shake the tray back and forth so that the drills settle right side up. This will make it easier for you to pick up the diamonds with the applicator pen.

Then take your diamond art pen and dip it into the wax a few times. "Do this until there’s a little wax on the tip. Use your pen to pick up a diamond drill and place the drill on the corresponding symbol, and continue to add the color you’re working with to the canvas. It’s not necessary to dip the pen into the wax with every drill, as it will pick up drills for a while before you need to dip into the wax again.

When you finish your first section, pull back another section of the cover and start again. Once you are finished, all you have to do is to frame and display your artworks!
